  3. Do you want to learn how to maintain a UV printer but don’t know how to operate it?
If you have these or similar problems, let’s solve them together now! Let our UV printer play its best role!
Below, the Giftec team will share with you the daily maintenance methods.

Part 1 – About the daily maintenance of UV printer Printhead

  • Before each use, perform a nozzle test first. If there is a problem with missing nozzles, clean the nozzle in time. Because it is possible that the print head is blocked.
  • Do not allow the printhead cable connector to come into contact with any liquid, otherwise the nozzle or mainboard will be burned out!
  • Do not use hands or other hard materials to directly touch the surface of the printhead, otherwise the printhead will no longer be usable.
  • It is suggested to use special cleaning liquid to clean the nozzle, to avoid damage to the interior of the nozzle.
  • Before replacing printhead or other accessories, be sure to turn off the power.

Part 2 – About the maintenance of original UV printers

  • Grating strip: Spray some alcohol on a non-woven cloth, gently wipe the grating strip.
  •  Drive belt: Keep the drive belt bearings and motor clean. If there is any residual ink, wipe it with alcohol.
  • Machine flatbed: Do not place other irrelevant items. If there is any dirt, clean it with alcohol.
  • Transmission track (carriage beam and y-axis moving track): After using for a long time, you can add a little lubricating oil to keep it moist and smooth. If it is dirty, clean it with alcohol.
  • Ink cap station: The ink-absorbing pad, ink-absorbing blade and ink-absorbing tube can be cleaned with alcohol to maintain the normal use of each functional component.

Part 3 – About the maintenance of UV printer after use and shutdown

  • Turn off anti-static devices/ sub-ink tanks(if equip) promptly when not in use.
  • After completing all maintenance, the UV printer must be completely powered off.
  • When the UV printer is not used for a long time, regularly test the machine’s nozzle or print some color patterns to prevent the nozzle from becoming clogged.
  • When the UV printer is not used for a long time, turn off the software, turn off the machine, and unplug the power. Cover the machine with a protective cover to prevent dust from entering and contaminating the machine, and prevent rats from biting off the wires and damaging the machine and computer.
  • When the UV printer is not used for a long time, clamp it with the ink tube clamp(If there is), tighten the cover of the continuous ink supply pot to prevent air from entering the ink pot, and clamp between the large ink bottle and the continuous supply ink
  1. For the printhead of the indoor machine, it is only necessary to confirm that the printhead and the ink pad    (in the cap station) are sealed and aligned well.
  2. For the printhead of the outdoor machine, fill the ink pad with the cleaning solution, and then the printhead and the ink pad should be sealed and aligned well.
  3. The printheads of UV hybrid machine and UV flatbed machine should be filled with UV special cleaning solution on the ink pad, then the printheads and ink pads should be aligned and sealed, and then covered with a light shield to prevent dust, sun exposure.
The above is the daily maintenance method of UV printer shared by the Giftec team. As long as we take good care of our UV printer, there will be no problem in using the machine for a long time!
When the machine or equipment encounters a problem that cannot be solved by itself, be sure to contact the manufacturer in time! Let the manufacturer maintain the UV printer with you!
