In the daily use of UV printers, minor malfunctions may occur in the machine due to debugging or outdated parts, such as unsatisfactory printing results, the inability of the print head to perform normal inkjet work, etc.
These problems can actually be solved quickly. You only need to prepare parts that are easily damaged or need to be replaced frequently, such as cleaning wiper and various data transmission lines.
Today, the Giftec team has sorted out some glitches and solutions that may occur with UV printers. One person can easily solve it.
UV printer prints patterns poorly.
This is due to the improper height of the printhead, the distance between the print head and the printing material is too large, resulting in inaccurate inkjet placement、material has poor ability to absorb ink or the print head is not calibrated.
At this time, you can often lower the height of the print head (about 2~3mm to the material surface), change the material, or recalibrate the print head before printing.
Step test function malfunctions.
First, ensure that the voltage of the interface board remains stable at the conventional value, adjust the 36V voltage of the stepper driver to maintain stability, and connect the pulse signal line correctly.
Single or multiple print heads of UV printer cannot perform normal inkjet work.
First, perform ink squeezing and cleaning of the printhead, and then test the printhead again.
If there is still a single/ multiple printhead that is not performing normal inkjet work, please check whether the printhead cables and printhead plate are faulty.
UV printers cannot perform precise positioning.
Reset the 0 point of the printer.
The printhead/carriage collides with the printing material.
In daily use of UV printers, we can first turn on the anti-collision device to avoid this problem.
If the anti-collision device is not turned on, please press the emergency stop button, take the material out, release the emergency button, move the carraige to the initial position/home position, re-adjust the appropriate printing height, and then start printing.
UV printer has garbled characters and irregular inkjet when printing.
First test the print heads one by one to troubleshoot the print heads、replace the printhead cable (print head board cable)、replace the adapter board/optical fiber, reload the screen to process.
The machine cannot receive data and respond normally when connected to the computer.
Re-plugin the USB connection cable, check whether the printer types selection correctly.
The best way to prevent UV printer failures is to perform routine maintenance of the printer. The maintenance methods are also different for always using a UV printer, using the printer occasionally, and not using the printer for a long time.
When the machine is working normally, please clean and maintain the printhead/ cap station/ printhead wiper every day or a week using a cleaning fluid (if necessary) that matches the ink used.
When the machine is not used for 7 to 12 days, it is recommended to place a piece of non-woven fabric soaked in cleaning/moisture liquid in the protective film or moisturizing tray, and then wrap the printhead surface.
When not in use for a long time, it is recommended to keep the machine in a stand by condition, the printer will do a self ink squeezing each 12hours to make sure printhead without drying and clogging.
Please be careful when handling the printhead to prevent any damage of the printhead.
Every time the UV printer is turned on, do a nozzle check to see the condition of the printheads, if there are nozzles ink missing, do a printhead cleaning on the software, if it is found that the ink is still missing when printing, it needs to be cleaned again. If there are only a few of nozzles ink missing, we can try to print some patterns or pictures.
