UV printer is a digital plate-free full-color printing machine that can directly print in color on the surface of mobile phone cases, wood, acrylic, glass, leather, etc.
It has fast printing speed, high color saturation restoration and simple operation. It is an essential equipment for many digital printing companies.
But when using a UV printer, color deviation sometimes occurs, resulting in unsatisfactory printing results. Do you know what causes it?
Let’s take a look at it together
1、Picture problem
Before using a uv printer to print patterns, the required printed images need to be processed.
If a mistake during image processing causes the color of the pattern to be damaged, the printing effect will be different from the required effect.
Specifically, there are several reasons:
1)Computer monitors will have different visual color effects due to different brands, models and color value settings.
2)When making pattern colors, the lightest color value should not be less than 8%, otherwise the light color printing effect may not be obvious.
3)The image color of the design original is RGB, not CMYK
Therefore, you can perform test printing before printing until the desired effect is achieved, and then officially print.
This can save materials and quickly confirm with customers whether the printing results are satisfactory.
2、Ink problem
The quality of the ink is also the key to the printing effect.
If the ink used is of poor quality, it will not only fail to meet the printing requirements, but will also cross color with the ink in the ink cartridge, resulting in serious printing color deviations.
3、envirnmental factor
When the working environment of the UV flatbed printer is too humid, there may be residual moisture in the substrate itself or on the surface.
When printing under this condition, the UV ink may not dry completely or the ink may smudge, affecting the printing effect.
When the working environment temperature of the UV printer is too low, it may affect the fluidity of the ink.
Thick ink can easily cause unclear printing and uneven colors.
In order to avoid ink precipitation affecting fluidity, Giftec uv printers have upgraded the ink stirring function.
No manual intervention required, automatic mixing. This greatly reduces personnel operations and improves efficiency
Tips: storage of UV printers and consumables in harsh environments should be avoided
4、Effect of material properties
Each material has different characteristics such as background color and ink adsorption capacity.
It should be noted that the darker the background color of the material, the easier it is to produce color difference.
5、ICC color profile
The International Color Consortium (ICC). ICC color management is a universal system developed by the International Color Association for the ICC standard format.
The ICC curve is a method of correcting printing color deviations. Due to the difference between ink and printing, the printed ink often has a large deviation image, an ICC curve will be made to modify the color to achieve a good color reproduction for the printed graphic.
Normally the ICC curve will be provided from a printer factory, integrated with the RIP software to process the graphic.
Therefore, before printing the graphic, we will need to choose the suitable ICC file when processing the graphic through RIP software.
In addition to the above reasons, the UV printer itself is also an important factor. Different UV printers and print heads will have different printing effects.
Therefore, when purchasing a UV printer, you can learn more about the machine details and printing effects.
